Visitor’s Guide

The main event centre will be Drogheda’s state of the art Concert hall – The TLT. You can expect a guitar player’s heaven at The Irish Guitar & Blues Festival 2011! Here you can get all the information you need to arrange you visit to the Irish Guitar & Blues Festival 2011. Failte Ireland in conjunction with The Irish Guitar & Blues Festival 2011 are offering fantastic hotel rates for those of you who wish to stay for the weekend and experience all that the festival and that Drogheda has to offer. A free shuttle bus will run for the weekend around the town to ferry visitors from the town centre and hotels to the main event centre.

There is ample parking beside the TLT Concert Hall, however visitors are encouraged to use public transport where possible to help ease traffic congestion.

How To Get There

From the North via M1:

1. Leave the motorway at the first exit after the Boyne cable-stay bridge, signposted for Drogheda and Donore.
2. Go through the tolls and turn left at the roundabout at the top of the ramp.
3. Go straight ahead at the next roundabout and on to the second set of traffic lights beside a Lidl store, where you turn right.
4. Take the next turn to the right (there are some factory entrances which look like roads) about 700 metres on.
5. Turn left at the Mazda showroom. We are at the end of the road on the right.

From the South via M1:

1. Leave the motorway at the first exit after the toll plaza, signposted for Drogheda and Duleek.
2. Go right at the roundabout at the bottom of the ramp, and pass underneath the motorway.
3. Go straight on at the next roundabout as you come under the motorway bridge. Take the second turn to the left after the Toyota garage (the first turn is a minor road which leads back onto the main road).
4. Turn left after you pass some houses on both sides of the road, left again at the Mazda showroom.
5. We are at the end of the road on the right.

From the West via Navan:

1. Leave Navan by the Kentstown road heading for Duleek.
2. In Kentstown village, turn left towards Duleek, & cross the N2 after about 1 Km.
3. Go straight through Duleek towards Drogheda, turning left at the stop sign on the outskirts of the village.
4. Go straight on at the two roundabouts at the M1 junction. Take the second turn to the left after the Toyota garage (the first turn is a minor road which leads back onto the main road).
5. Turn left after you pass some houses on both sides of the road, left again at the Mazda showroom.
6. We are at the end of the road on the right.

From Drogheda town centre:

1. Cross the River Boyne by any of the three bridges which lead on to the dual carriageway.
2. If you cross St Mary’s bridge (the one beside Scotch Hall shopping centre), turn right onto the dual carriageway, then take the filter lane to the left at the next lights. Go straight on to the second traffic lights (beside a Lidl store) where you turn left.
3. Take the next turn to the right (there are some factory entrances which look like roads) about 700 metres on.
4. Turn left at the Mazda showroom. We are at the end of the road on the right.
5. If you cross the Haymarket bridge (the one between the Haymarket car park and McDonald’s), go straight on at the dual carriageway junction lights.
6. Go straight on to the second traffic lights (beside a Lidl store) where you turn left.
7. Take the next turn to the right (there are some factory entrances which look like roads) about 700 metres on.
8. Turn left at the Mazda showroom. We are at the end of the road on the right.
9. If you cross the Bridge of Peace (the one at the northern end of the dual carriageway), continue along the dual carriageway in the right-hand lane through the pedestrian lights, and turn right at the next junction (opposite McDonald’s).
10. Go straight on to the second traffic lights (beside a Lidl store) where you turn left.
11. Take the next turn to the right (there are some factory entrances which look like roads) about 700 metres
12. on. Turn left at the Mazda showroom. We are at the end of the road on the right.
